we heart the new Boden ranges. x

if you haven't already noticed (where have you been??!!), there's some new and exciting goings-on at Boden!! x

Boden has already kicked off the year increasing their main-range styles with extra items on the website, plus they've also added a new Limited line and an 11 piece maternity range!! it's looking mighty good and there's been plenty of press buzz about the Limited pieces! check it out here

to add to their expanding collection, march 4th sees the release of Boden's spring/summer party range- perfect timing for summer brides looking to dress their wedding party!

in true Boden fashion, dresses are gorgeously flirty and in colours that you won't be able to find anywhere else on the high street. along with the Limited dresses, you could dress your bridesmaids, mother-of-the-bride and find the perfect accessories- all wrapped up in a spotty Boden parcel!

all above photos from Boden.

the party range launches on 4th march- keep an eye out as it's a limited edition buy!

looking forward to see what Boden does next! x

we heart a £ saving bridesmaid suggestion! x

I think I've gone mad.. perhaps... stark raving?...

it's with a bit of trepidation that I am suggesting the below...
.
short of buying the odd holiday t-shirt, I very rarely buy anything from h&m- I find their fabric too synthetic for my liking. BUT today I found three dresses which could very well pass for bridesmaids! I chose to only have one bridesmaid so luckily I didn't have to pay out for multiple outfits (and bought one very lovely dress), but I can imagine just how expensive this could be.
there's a current fashion for the bridal party to be coordinated by colour and shades-of rather than having the same dress. everyone's a different body shape, so it's sensible to dress your girls in styles to flatter- no one's going to thank you for adding bulk in the wrong places!
which is where todays suggestion comes in.
in the interest of saving some £, I found 3 very reasonable dresses in h&m. all of them are in shades of vintage pink which could work separately or even together, and might work for all your girls different sizes. See what you think:

please excuse my black tights in all of the photos- it was so cold I couldn't take them off!!

plus this shrug could tie everyone in to the same theme, although it doesn't work with the above dresses:

although I tried all of the above on, I can not vouch for the fit being great, and as long as you're not too fussed about the fabric quality they could be a good option, but you do get what you pay for etc, etc. adding some great shoes, hair accesories, or silk ribbons would definitely make all three dresses look more expensive. I think it's a good option to consider if you can't decide which friends you just can't leave out!

in future posts I'll be suggesting other ideas for your weddings- I hope you find this useful! x

we heart WIT wedding wednesdays! x

one of my favourite bloggers is getting married!!

every wednesday, Laura Fantacci of Wearing It Today posts a wedding wednesday special! I'm so excited to keep up to date with Laura's wedding plans and see how things are coming along. I just know that her day is going to be incredibly stylish and beautiful. I can't wait until Laura posts the pictures!

Today, very sweetly, Laura included me in a post of her favourite readers dresses! (top right) I'm thrilled to have had my picture posted and it's such a compliment from Red fashion editor Laura who's always super chic! I'd recommend signing up to Laura's daily emails to see what she's wearing daily. I'm always intrigued to see what a fashion editor wears to work as is half of our office- we all love WIT!!

we heart a little bit more Vera!

in the second post of today about dresses..

bridal favourite Vera Wang has, in an extremely exciting way, launched 'White' by Vera Wang this past Friday! with a more affordable price tag (between $600 and $1400), Wang has translated her beautiful signature style into a small concise collection of 12 gowns through the U.S's largest bridal retailer, David's Bridal.
I checked the website and David's Bridal ship here! great news! I couldn't say whether the U.S. operate the same returns policy as the U.K (you have better returns rights if you purchase online than in a store in the UK, if you didn't know!) so check that before you purchase.. otherwise make sure you have a good alterations specialist to hand!
amazing news though!
here's a sneaky peek:

we heart anthropologie's wedding gowns! x

oh my gosh!

anthropologie have launched a very beautifully quirky range of wedding gowns under the name BHLDN!

here are just some of the highlights:
(gorgeous!!!)

($3600)

($2,600)

($2,400)- I think this is my fav.

($600)

(dotty birdcage veil $160)

in keeping with anthropologie's rooted spirit, the collection of both bridal and bridemaids dresses are unique in their offering the modern day bride 'heirloom' quality gowns which are vintage in inspiration and palette. they are quite original, quirky, and a little theatrical - if you didn't know any better, they could well be taken as vintage one-offs, which is the point. everyone is looking for new ways to be different and express themselves on their wedding day- it's the one day you can truly make a statement about who you are, your tastes and how unique you can be. I think this collection just about fits the bill!

look at how stunning these bridesmaids gown are and just how detailing they are! You could easily wear one as a guest or for any other fancy occasions!

indigo mist gown

gin fizz shift dress

very helpfully for those brides still stuck on the their dress theme and need a little guidance, there's a mini pop quiz to point you in the right direction- are you a 'nostalgic romantic' or 'lady with a twist'?!

I'm pretty gutted that this collection wasn't around when I was looking- they've really thought everything through inclusive of shoes and accessories- well done to Anthropologie for such an impressive first season!

At the moment they aren't shipping to the UK which is a shame but personally I would make every attempt to get my hands on these gowns!! x

we heart being cheered up by sunny memories!

it's been pretty grim outside today so I thought I'd share a few of our sunny engagement shoot photos from june last year. I hope that this isn't oh-my-god-how-vain-can-you-get of me?! It's from it- but it makes me smile! it's also another perfect excuse for me to rave about Chloe at Caught The Light Photography and just how super talented!..
..and one of my other favourite post subjects: Petersham Nurseries!!
yes, we were lucky enough to be granted access to the nurseries to have our shoot there. we were thrilled with the photos, but it completely helps that we had a) Chloe taking the photos, b) the beauty of Petersham as our set and c) the sunniest day of the year to work with. very lucky!

wedding idea: my very kind Aunt & Uncle (thank you! x) put together a guest book using our engagement shoot photos and circulated it during our wedding for guests to sign. Everyone was asked to choose their favourite picture and sign the page opposite. We now have a great momento of the day!
I was lucky that my Aunt and Uncle provided our book, but anyone could easily do this with holiday snaps or your favourite pictures of your life so far together and get them made up by an online album company- my favourite is Bob's books. I'm planning to put together a book of our guests wedding shots and our honeymoon using Bob's books.

we heart some love from london!

there's some love in the air!!!
London is definitely feeling the love by the looks of it..! Below are some of my favourite windows celebrating saint valentines:

smythson of bond street

wedding idea: neon lighting/bulb novelty signage as a focal point for photographs. Could be completely spectacular in the right setting. Image the above heart above an enormous fireplace in an old country manor?! It would definitely be a talking point! I would have loved to have done this at ours. sadly budget dicatated otherwise.!

mulberry

wedding idea: mulberry tied in their window cut-out cardboard dollies theme to their catwalk invitations (if I remember rightly?...) which were minature versions. wouldn't this be cute with a bride and groom with writing on the reverse?! love it! oooh, maybe I'll try that idea for a future post...

mui mui

the new mui mui store on bond street where the old ungaro store used to be. it's looking pretty shiny and rodeo drive to me, but an improvement on the old store no doubt!

I love the giant acrylic heart earrings hanging in each window- tres Pat Butcher!! If you can see from the photo, each heart displayed the newest accesories collection including the above acrylic poppy story...

wedding idea: bridesmaid accessories? A rather expensive option if you've got more than one but I quite like the large poppy headband for a standout look! I'm sure topshop or accessorize will have their own version of this soon enough, or if you like the bracelet, try lela rose for similar.

we heart Stefanie and Jan's German wedding

on July 31st 2010, Emma-Jane of Caught the Light Photography photographed the beautiful wedding of Stefanie and Jan in Germany. I've been really lucky to have been sent some of Stefanie's favourite shots of the day which are just truly stunning!! aren't they just completely gorgeous?! I just had to post them for everyone to see!

as a designer, Stefanie's taste is always impeccable. it's no wonder that on the most important day of her life, the personal touches and detailing exuded her style, from the ethereal Vera Wang gown to the calligraphy parcel tags. I am sure Jan must have been completely blown away by all the work that Stefanie put into the day- lucky man!!

this is my absolute favourite shot:
it's just so relaxed and they both look blissfully happy- the doorway just frames Stef and Jan perfectly!

the end of a perfect day!
Thank you Stefanie and Jan for sharing your gorgeous images! x x x
