we heart a couture house with a conscience. x

I'm back! apologies for the absence, but sadly it was unavoidable...

during the lull at this grey, rather uninspiring time of year, one innovative couture house has lightened up my january days!

House Of Tammam is leading the way in ethical bridal fashion with their 'eco-couture' line in gowns. Last week, Lucy Tammam and her team delighted invited guests and commuters with a spectacular catwalk show in the unusual venue of St. Pancras International station.

Set beneath the stations beautiful and intricate steel and glass ceilings, House of Tamman showed off their gorgeous 1930s inspired hand-made dresses which included a dress named after the royal-bride-of-the-year 'Kate' and the 'Josephine' dress which includes hand embroidered banana yarns (4 months sewing time!! Now that's special!)

('Peacock' gown sketch as seen at tammam.co.uk)

I think my favourite design has to be the 'Peacock' gown (it can be seen on the House of Tammam website) with appliqued peacock motif all the way down the back of the dress- quite an amazing piece of handwork for your guests to admire whilst you're saying your vows!

if you don't want to compromise your style but feel that it's important to maintain your ethical beliefs (even on your wedding day), visit the House Of Tammam website for more information and stockists.
see the video from the show here.
Just beautiful! Congratulations Lucy!
